Advanced Cardiac CT Course
This is our primary educational offering, and is an intensive two day course designed for radiologists and cardiologists who wish to refine their skills in cardiac CT interpretation. Expert faculty will supervise the reading of 50 teaching cases with cardiac catheterization correlation. Participants will be given a hands-on experience using a workstation of their choice from one of four vendors.
Objectives
The objectives of the course are to:
- Become proficient in the identification of coronary plaque
- Appreciate the correlation between stenosis severity on CT and Cardiac Catheterization
- Recognize common artifacts and learn techniques to overcome them
- Recognize congenital heart defects and other less common conditions on CT
Description
The course will immerse users in the process of interpreting cardiac CTA (computed tomography angiography) images. Each participant will have the use of his/her own workstation. The maximum class size will be 5 participants to allow for in-depth mentoring and personalized instruction, as needed. Participants will enter their CT readings into a dedicated software program to focus attention and ensure a comprehensive learning experience. This proprietary software records progress, compares findings with the expert readers' findings, and displays cine loops of cardiac catheterization. A lecture will be given each day which will cover clinical aspects of cardiac CT with an emphasis on appropriate use of the technology.
Course Information
The course is located on the MGH campus at 25 New Chardon Street, Suite 400B, Boston, MA, 02114. We recommend three hotels within walking distance. Please download our brochure for a complete sign-up form and additional information.
